WILLIAM HENRY HARRISON FELL III
1952-2017
William Henry Harrison Fell III, age 65 of Houston Texas passed away on June 4, 2017. He was born in Doylestown, PA on March 20, 1952. He is a Vietnamera veteran who served as a corpsman in the US Navy from 1970 - 1974 in Great Lakes and at the Newport Naval Hospital, Newport, RI. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA and a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Houston. He spent many years as a therapist specializing in family therapy and care of children and adolescents. He served from January 2012 until his death as a case manager for the Veterans Administration Homeless Veterans program at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center in Houston, TX. He was an avid fisherman and valued fishing with his brother Robert Fell, sister Kathy Clemens and friend Doug Johnson with whom he went on many great fishing trips. He is survived by wife Poldi Tschirch, son and daughter-in-law John and Lisa Fell, including three grandchildren, Zoey, Henry and Blair Fell. He greatly loved Dr. Linda Sayers, Dr. Phyllis Waters, Dr. Phyllis Kritek and Patricia Romick, all of whom added greatly to his life. The family is grateful to Robert Birdow Jr. and Bill’s many colleagues in the VA Homeless Veterans program for their support for him as a co-worker and their thoughts and prayers during his illness. We are also thankful to the faculty and staff of the University of St. Thomas Peavy School of Nursing for their constant support.
Funeral services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at 14740 Meandering Way, Richardson, TX 75254 on Monday June 12, 2017 at 12 noon, with internment to follow at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery.
