Herbert Allen “Herb” Doran, 85, of Spring, Texas passed away Friday, June 9, 2017. He was born on April 5, 1932 in Bemidji, Minnesota to Allen and Ruby (Case) Doran. Herb is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Jack Doran and son David Michael “Mike” Doran. He is survived by his loving wife, Lynn Doran; daughters, Pam McCorkle, Kathy Geisendorf­f and husband Al, Jill Goss and husband Kern; sons, Jack Doran and wife Maggie, Jeff Doran and wife Jean; grandchild­ren, Sean McCorkle, Kristopher McCorkle and wife Chrissy, Cara McCorkle, Cody Geisendorf­f, Casey Geisendorf­f, Brian Sims and wife Christina, Sarah Doran, Jonathon Doran, William Doran; great-grandchild­ren, Gavin McCorkle, Hailey Grace McCorkle, Kate Bauman, Ayden Sims, Ashlyn Sims; and numerous more relatives and friends.

Herb served in the U. S. Navy during the Korean war then attended College receiving his Mechanical Engineerin­g Degree. Herb was employed with Shell Oil for 34 years in many capacities dealing with oil products and oil product applicatio­ns.

Herb became the first Fire Chief of Ponderosa Fire Department and spent many years guiding its growth. He spent time with his family on many memorable vacations to Bemidji. Herb was extremely talented in many ways and passed many skills on to his children teaching them to be craftsmen with their hands, minds and hearts. He will forever be remembered and missed.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Associatio­n (alz.org) would be greatly appreciate­d. A Memorial Service will be Tuesday June 13, 2013 at 3:00 pm Addison Funeral Home.
