GEORGIA LEE ELDRIDGE

1924-2017

Georgia Eldridge went peacefully to be with the Lord on June 9, 2017. Georgia was born June 10, 1924, to Burr and Julia Sparkman in Bonham, Texas. She married Loyd Eldridge, also of Bonham, Texas, on October 23, 1940, and soon made Houston, Texas, their new home. Georgia was an extremely talented seamstress who successfully owned and operated Eldridge Interiors for over 40 years. She was an active member of Woodland Baptist Church, previously located in the Heights, until its unfortunate closing. Being a faithful servant of our Lord Jesus Christ was most important in her busy life. She is survived by her children Burdine Compton and husband Richard, Sherrita Krus and husband John. Grand children include Loyd Stegent and wife Sheri, Chandler Krus and wife Kristy, Kolbi Blanchette and husband Fuller; great grandchildren are Samantha Vargas, Natalee Stegent, and Callum Krus. Georgia was also blessed to have many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Funeral services will be held at Heights Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers please send donations in memory of Georgia Eldridge to the Holy Comforters Sewing Group at Zion Lutheran Church 3606 Beauchamp, Houston TX 77009. A heartfelt thanks is extended to ALL of Georgia’s caregivers especially Merlina Jelinic, Sonia Hall, Connie Rodriguez, and Amarachi Nonoabu. The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 13, 2017, 10:30am at Heights Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 11:30am. Interment Historical Hollywood Cemetery.
