Cottrell has worked as home builder, Realtor, broker
It is important for home buyers to have a list of items they cannot live without, such as location, size of home, number of bedrooms, etc. This will help make the search easier and faster.
“Often buyers will find the home that meets their needs and goals, but the location may be off, or the location is perfect, but the yard is smaller than they wanted. So, compromises may need to be made,” said Jonathan Cottrell, a Realtor with Martha Turner Sotheby’s International Realty.
The majority of Cottrell’s focus area includes League City, Clear Lake, Friendswood and Pearland. He also calls this area home.
“One of the best parts of my focus area is the schools. Many of my clients like to have their children in great schools and both school districts are highly regarded for their drive for excellence,” Cottrell said.
Great schools and strong home values are not independent of one another. Another great feature of this area is it’s a great place to live, work and play.
“We have all of the options in homes from waterfront luxury to golf course communities. This area has all price ranges to accommodate everyone’s budget,” he said.
Moreover, it is a great time to buy in this area. Certain areas are still seeing home values increase while others are strong and stable.
Cottrell began working with local developers in 2005. Since then, he worked as a home builder and then became a licensed Realtor in 2011 and a broker in 2015.
“I have built a strong foundation of knowledge of neighborhoods, homes and have a passion for helping people. My goal is to help individuals and families find a home that they can be proud,” he said.
