HOMES, COMMUNITIES
Elyson’s students will head to 3 new Katy ISD schools.
When students living in Katy’s Elyson community return to school in August, they will attend the Katy Independent School District’s new Paetow High and Stockdick Junior High, the newest additions to a K-12 tri-campus located two miles from Elyson.
Bethke Elementary, also part of the tri-campus, opened in 2016. Elyson students are zoned to attend all of these state-of-the-art schools.
All of these schools have new architectural designs that are the first of their kind for Katy ISD, reflecting the district’s forward-looking focus on collaborative, student-driven learning and exposing students to real-world connections.
Event scheduled The public is invited to tour these new schools with Katy ISD’s Ignite! celebration on Aug. 12, a week before school starts.
Festivities will include food trucks and activities such as bounce houses.
A “learning green” the size of eight football fields will be located between Paetow and Stockdick, providing places where students can gather for lunch, put on performances and work on collaborative projects.
‘Learning stairs’
The first three-story high school in Katy ISD, Paetow will have three sets of “learning stairs,” providing spaces for students and teachers to gather for collaborative learning, arts performances and other activities.
Technology is another focus, with filtered Wi-Fi, Chromebook computers and interactive 55-inch smart panel computers in every classroom.
Stockdick Junior High has many flexible-use spaces where students can collaborate, along with technology similar to that used in the high school.
Elyson will also soon be convenient to higher education, with the University of Houston planning to break ground next year on its 46-acre campus at I-10 and Grand Parkway.
At Grand Parkway and FM 529, Elyson offers new homes priced from the mid-$200,000s to $600,000s.
