The president’s taxes

Regarding “Tax proposal draws protest” (Page A5, Thursday), the tax bill should include a requirement that President Donald Trump release his tax returns. Why should he object? Why should GOP politicians oppose this requirement?

If he is hiding something, it is most likely a blatant conflict of interest, revealing insights into the sources of his wealth or both. If there is nothing to hide, then release them.
