For Hughes, it’s ‘an honor to serve’ as an agent

Owning a home adds many positives to the lives of individuals, couples or families.

“Research has shown that one of the most important components to successful, happy, relationships is homeownership. It gives people a chance to develop long-term relationships and neighborhood support. Owning a home also means being invested in a neighborhood, due to the feeling of belonging and being rooted in an area,” said Pam Hughes, a Realtor with Heritage Texas Properties.

Hughes’ main focus areas include Katy to Cypress, The Woodlands, and she works with clients interested in the close-in north neighborhoods.

She has called this area home for over 30 years, and has been the top seller in many of the areas.

“I love these areas, as they are well established with strong homeowners associations, mature trees and quality of home construction,” Hughes said.

Homes in these areas, which did not fall victim to Hurricane Harvey, are in demand, and there is a shortage of inventory. So, it is also a great time for those considering selling to move forward in listing their homes.

Hughes grew up on a dairy farm in Australia and spent four years in the Women’s Royal Australian Navy, prior to marrying her Texas sailor and moving to the Lone Star State in 1981.

She began her real estate career 32 years ago.

“Real estate offers me the chance to serve a wide variety of people from all walks of life, which I greatly enjoy. I take being a Realtor very seriously, and the awesome responsibility that I have to assist people in making one of the most important decisions for themselves and their families,” Hughes said.

Since obtaining her real estate licenses, Hughes has continued her education, obtaining a number of certifications, such as Accredited Buyer Representative and Certified Residential Specialist.

Hughes is also involved in her community, to the extent that she was honored with the John F. Wolfe Community Service Award by the Houston Association of Realtors in 2017. Her involvement helps her to have first-hand knowledge on the community, amenities available and new businesses moving in, as well as any challenges that may need to be addressed.

“I love Houston, I love the people and I love what I do. It is such an honor to serve as a real estate agent, helping to guide those into their new homes, where their lives will unfold and memories will be made,” Hughes said.
