MAN Diesel & Turbo to consolidate area locations
MAN Diesel & Turbo has inked a deal to consolidate its Houston-area locations to a new North America headquarters building with room to expand in the new Twinwood business park west of Katy.
The 137,434 square-foot campus, to be owned by Houstonbased Welcome Group, marks the first deal in the 650-acre park, the developers announced. It’s south of Interstate 10 between Woods Road and FM 1489 in the Brookshire area.
Twinwood business park is part of a larger proposed development designed to include residential, hospitality, higher education and offices on property owned by Houston businessman Putera Sampoerna.
Houston-based KDW will build the campus, which includes 105,309 square feet of service shop space and 32,125 square feet of office space. Construction will begin in the second quarter and take a year to complete.
The German company makes marine propulsion systems used in container ships and turbomachinery such as compressors and steam turbines used in oil and gas and chemical processing. The new site will consolidate MAN's locations in Houston and Deer Park.
Bob Berry and Jacob Bravo of Avison Young represented MAN in the lease. Welcome Realty Advisors represented Welcome Group. Katie Sandoval arranged acquisition and construction financing through Hancock Whitney Bank.
Vince Yokom of the Waller County Economic Development Partnership and Waller County Judge Trey Duhon assisted with the deal. The new facility is expected to employ 142 workers.
