Jane Taylor Turner, 94, passed away on Monday, March 5, 2018 in Sugar Land, Texas from complicati­ons of COPD. She was born February 16, 1924 in Kinston, N.C., and graduated from Grainger High School in 1942. Jane was the Captain and a star player on the Basketball Team. In her profession­al life, she was employed as an analyst by the U.S. Government, a bookkeeper at several businesses, and at Garden Villas United Methodist Church where she was a member for more than 40 years. After moving to Sugar Land, she became a member of First United Church of Sugar Land. Her passion was singing in the Church Choir and she enjoyed being around her grandchild­ren and great grandchild­ren. Jane is preceded in death by her parents George Stanton Taylor and Tillie Mashburn Taylor; brother, D.H. Taylor and wife, Alice Kennedy Taylor; sister, Mary Alice Laws and husband, Robert Lee Laws of Kinston, N.C.; and her brother, George Stanton Taylor of Raleigh, N.C. She is also preceded in death by her first husband, Douglas Turner and second husband, John E. Exparza. Survivors include her sons; Doug Turner and wife Nancy of Sugar Land, Randy Turner of Austin; grandchild­ren, Ashley King and husband Jeff of Richmond, Julianne and husband Olle Lorehn, currently in Argentina, and Clayton Turner of Houston. Her great grandchild­ren are Kacie and Kyle King, Landon and Taylor Lorehn. A Graveside Service will be held in her hometown of Kinston, N.C. on Friday, March 23, 2018.
