Elyson hosts Great Get-Together picnic on Saturday, April 14

-

Next weekend, everyone is invited to Elyson’s Great Get-Together, an old-fashioned picnic with a Wizard of Oz theme featuring chalk art, face painters, balloon artists, classic picnic food and drinks and more. The picnic will be followed by a live music concert.

The free family fun takes place on Saturday, April 14, from 1-6 p.m. at the Elyson community, located at Grand Parkway and FM 529, between I-10 west and U.S. 290 west.

Dorothy will greet guests as they arrive at Elyson’s Model Home Village, and there will be a living Tin Man statue and a Scarecrow on jumping stilts.

A chalk artist will help kids create their own artwork with Wizard of Oz-themed templates. Face painters, balloon artists, and arts and crafts activities will add to the fun, and a DJ will be spinning tunes.

Kids of all ages also can enjoy train rides around the Model Home Village, a hamster ball collision course and farmyard inflatable play areas. Guests also can enjoy carnival games like tic-tac-toe, ring toss, can smash, sack races and a hula hoop station.

Delicious treats will include cotton candy, popcorn, mini funnel cakes and lemonade. Throughout the event, Elyson Cafe will be offering food specials for sale, including pizzas, sliders, fruit and salads.

From 4-6 p.m., guests are invited to enjoy live music on the event lawn at Elyson House, right next door to the model homes. Houston’s Hybrid 7 band will play upbeat dance hits and classic Motown favorites, and Elyson Cafe will offer a special menu, along with wine, beer and sangria.

Located in the acclaimed Katy Independent School District, Elyson offers new homes priced from the low $200,000s to $700,000s.
