Rick Stallings sees city’s diversity, opportunities
Many Realtors highly recommend investing in real estate, whether that means buying a residential home, investing in REITs or buying investment property.
“REITs are real estate investment trusts. You buy them just like other stocks, but they only invest funds in real estate. Some buy apartments, malls or office buildings,” said Rick Stallings, Realtor and director of the Commercial Division at Berkshire Hathaway.

“Houston is relatively inexpensive compared to New York, or Los Angeles. Yet, it has comparable diversity and opportunities.
“Plus, despite Houston’s size, it is surprisingly a very friendly city. Very often you see people talking to total strangers while they are in line at a store.

Stallings is a full-time commercial real estate agent based out of The Woodlands. He moved to Houston from Nashville six years ago.
Stallings has been in the commercial real estate industry for 10 years.
He received his Master of Business Administration degree in 2008 and began selling commercial real estate immediately. College stirs interest
Stallings was working on his MBA and was required to take three electives and he opted for one in real estate financial analysis and loved it. He graduated with an MBA with an emphasis in real estate finance. He has continued his education though in real estate to ensure his clients receive the best possible service.
“I had a great professor in college, who would give us the parameters, then he would give us what the investor wanted, and we had to figure out how to make the deal work.
“I love educating my clients now on how the numbers work and how that relates to them,” Stallings said.
Stallings is known for his presentations, and humor, which he has found to be the key to turning a complex technical topic into an incredibly interesting one.
