Pickleball, bocce ball coming to Elyson’s newest park
When the newest park in Katy’s Elyson community opens this fall, residents can discover some sports they might not have tried yet, including pickleball, a fast-growing sport enjoyed by an estimated 3 million players nationwide.
A racquet sport that blends elements of tennis, ping-pong and badminton, pickleball is popular with players of every age.
Elyson’s new park will also have a court for bocce ball, or Italian lawn bowling. One of the most widely played games in the world, bocce traces its origins back to the Roman Empire.
Opening this fall, the park will also include a shade pavilion and lakeside fire pit for residents who would prefer to sit and socialize. Pathways will connect to Elyson’s growing trail system. First gated neighborhood
This 1-acre park will be located just outside of Elyson’s first gated neighborhood, offering patio homes priced from the mid$300,000s by Drees Custom Homes.
Drees is the exclusive builder in this gated neighborhood, limited to 63 homesites measuring 60 feet wide. About one-third of the homesites offer frontage along one of Elyson’s scenic lakes.
