Dr. Daniel Edgar Hanby (also known as Dr. Dan and Eeyah), passed away peacefully with his family by his side on May 29, 2018.

Dr. Hanby resided at his Houston address for the past 47 years along with his wife, Betty Hanby. He was 81 years old. He was born in Rochester, MN. on October 19, 1936. He was preceded in death by his beloved brother, John Hanby as well as his parents, David Arnold Hanby and Helen Zoe Fagin. He is survived by his wife, Betty Hurn Hanby and his children: Marta Farb, Molly Herrington and Duncan Hanby. He is also survived by his 8 grandchild­ren, Olivia, Emory and Austin Farb, Ashton, Lauren and Destiny Herrington, and Avery and Graham Hanby. Dr. Hanby graduated from Tulane medical school and was a Pediatrici­an in Spring Branch with Texas Children’s Hospital for 50 years. He had retired in 2008. Prior to establishi­ng residency in Houston, Dr. Hanby served as a Captain in the Army Medical Unit. He was an incredibly gifted human being who loved life entirely. He gave all he had to the babies, children and families he served as well as anyone who crossed his path. His bird dogs and sailing were a huge part of his life as well. He will be greatly missed by all.

Services will be at Tallowood Baptist Church on Saturday, June 16 at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, please make your contributi­ons to a Charity recognizin­g children or animals of your choice.
