Art gallery set to open this summer in the Heights
Jack Rabbit Gallery has leased a 2,600-square-foot building at 1703 Yale in the Heights. Gallery owner Jodi Grogan plans to open this summer, offering original art in the 1920s era property. Ashley Casterlin of Davis Commercial represented the landlord, Saddlebrook Ventures.
Orr Commercial has sold a 6,880-square-foot shopping center, 4902-4930 Washington Ave. at Durham, to a private buyer. Completed in 1999, the center is fully leased to FedEx Kinko’s, MT Nails & Facial Salon, Vapor Shop, Bell Cleaners and Subway. HFF’s Ryan West, John Indelli and Charlie Strauss represented the seller. Semiramis Fine Chocolates & Sweets has expanded into the U.S. with a Houston store at 12114 Westheimer. The business was founded 90 years ago in Damascus, Syria, and now makes products by hand in Amman, Jordan. Wafa Nemry and her family opened the store, which sells luxury chocolates and Middle Eastern treats. Express Oil Change & Tire has signed a 0.94-acre ground lease to develop a 40,917-squarefoot store in Grand Morton Town Center at the Grand Parkway and Morton Ranch Road in Katy. Express Oil Change has 240 locations nationwide, including nine in the Houston area.
Valvoline has signed a 1.21acre ground lease for a new Valvoline Instant Oil Change in Brazos Town Center at U.S. 59 and FM 762 in Rosenberg. First Watch has leased 3,500 square feet for a cafe in Grand Crossing at Interstate 10 and Grand Parkway in Katy. Josh Friedlander represented the landlord, NewQuest Properties.
