- By Lisa Zapalac

Located one block from River Oaks Park (a.k.a. Pumpkin Park), this Spanish Colonial-style home is close to a long list of shopping, dining and recreational destinations. Listing agent Mike Mahlstedt of Heritage Texas Properties Post Oak Park, says the home built by Larry Skelton showcases extensive custom millwork and attention to detail.

With 6,072 square feet of living space, the home — at 3609 Wickersham — is elevator capable and includes a third-floor flex area.

An open foyer reveals views of the formals and an open curved staircase with a wrought-iron railing that extends all the way to the open second-floor landing area.

Viewing the tree-lined Wickersham Lane, the formal living room is adjacent to the formal dining room and features expansive windows and abundant natural light. The formal dining room has tray ceilings with a custom trim design, oak hardwood floors, double arched floor-to-ceiling windows and French doors that lead into the butler’s pantry.

Open to the kitchen and breakfast room, the family room includes travertine floors, custombuilt cabinetry flanking the fireplace, recessed and art lighting, floor-toceiling windows and doors that open to the outdoor living space.

The updated kitchen includes custom cabinetry, soft-close cabinets, a large center island, Imperial white marble countertops, a subway tile backsplash, an oversized vent hood and lighting above the cabinets. The kitchen also has professional grade appliances including a Sub-Zero refrigerator and six-burner gas range as well as a Flow Tech filtration system.

A butler’s pantry with ample storage, prep and serving space, connects the kitchen to the formal dining room, and the study/library is wood paneled and has French doors, custom millwork and extensive built-ins.

The home’s open second-floor landing provides views and access to the secondary bedrooms, master suite and family room.

Spacious and private, the master suite has a high tray ceiling, a sitting area, windows overlooking the pool and backyard, and a dual master bath.

One side of the bath features a private water closet, furniture grade built-in cabinetry, travertine floors, granite countertops, a large walk-in closet, and oversized free-standing shower that connects to the bath on the opposite side. The other master bath also has a private water closet and a vanity with a cosmetic station, a soaking tub, granite countertops, travertine floors and a walk-in closet with extensive built-ins. The shower, which is shared by both bathrooms, has dual shower heads and a bench.

Just past the master suite is a family room with media built-ins, storage benches and abundant windows. A few steps down from the family room is a wet bar and coffee bar that has a beverage cooler and cabinets for storage and display.

The home has wellappointed secondary bedrooms and an optional fifth bedroom or flex space with custom builtins including a desk, a large walk-in closet and a full bath.

With five bedrooms, five full baths and two half-baths, this home is priced at $2,595,000.
