Civil disobedience

Houston Chronicle Sunday - - OUTLOOK -

Regarding “Dedication to ‘civility’ can’t be basis for quashing protests” (Page A17, Wednesday), Americans have the right to civil disobedience. That doesn’t include violence or threats to kill. It’s peaceful, passive protest. Americans have always had debates, disagreements, peaceful protest, petitions and voting to change legislation and government policy. We’ve always agreed to disagree. Now people think their opinion is the only opinion.

Let’s all grow up and go back to common courtesy, kindness and using the right way to do things.
