Second career in real estate proves prosperous

Rob Ginn, a Realtor with John Daugherty, Realtors, owned his own restaurant for more than 20 years before returning to real estate.

“When I was in college at Texas Christian University, I was interested in real estate and obtained my license. Yet, after college I went in another direction and opened a restaurant, which is still in operation. After I sold the restaurant, though, a number of years ago, I wanted a second career, so I dusted off my licenses and went to work,” Ginn said.

In this second chapter of his life, he has been in real estate for over five years and is already an award-winning Realtor.

The long list of skills that helped make his restaurant a success are the same skills that have made him a success in the real estate industry, which his clients appreciate.

At the restaurant, Ginn worked with and served a diverse group of people and different personalit­ies, honed his communicat­ion skills, ensured he was accessible and handled all of the financials and accounting. He also worked with a host of vendors, met customers’ needs, ensured products’ quality, provided public relations, was very discipline­d and personable, and handled the details. Ginn is knowledgea­ble of government regulation­s, ensured customers received great customer service, dedicated, and he worked seven days a week, without any time off.

Ginn’s main focus area is West University, Memorial, Southampto­n, Memorial and Tanglewood, which is his home territory and where he grew up.

As a native Houstonian, Ginn knows Houston and stays attuned to the market daily, and to the continual changes in the industry, requiremen­ts and documentat­ion.

“In real estate, there are many moving parts, and as a Realtor, my job is to be like the ringmaster and keep all the parts moving in the right direction. Also, (I must) keep everyone focused, and … make sure my clients’ goals and needs are met,” Ginn said.

The majority of Ginn’s clients are either referrals or repeat clients, which speaks highly of not only his profession­alism, but also the customer service he provides all his clients.

He is known for having a positive attitude, believing in what he is doing and being dedicated to his clients.

“I’m thrilled to be working with people again and to be working with John Daugherty, Realtors. The support John and the management team provide is unparallel­ed. The friendship­s and positive work environmen­t make it a great place to work. All of this support also benefits our clients,” Ginn said.
