San Diego-based CommonGrounds to open new space at The Hub in

San Diego-based coworking operator CommonGrounds will enter the Houston market with a location in Greenway Plaza in the spring.

The company has leased nearly 28,000 square feet of space, which will be integrated into The Hub, the central gathering and amenities area for the 11-building business campus at Richmond and Edloe near U.S. 59.

Parkway Property Investments, operator of Greenway Plaza, was represented by Rima Soroka and Eric Siegrist in the lease.

“We are very excited to join the already thriving Hub at Greenway Plaza,” CommonGrounds executive director and chief operating officer Jacob Bates said in an announcement. “We look forward to working together with Parkway to bring new energy to The Hub, including events, conferences and enriching activities for the entire Greenway Plaza community.”

The deal gives Parkway a modern coworking component in each of its Houston market areas. Spaces will move into 53,000 square feet at Post Oak Central in Uptown late next year, and TechSpace occupies 46,000 square feet at CityWestPlace in Westchase.

Greenway Plaza will be CommonGrounds’ 12th location. Others are in Denver, Portland, Salt Lake City, Fort Worth, Minneapolis, Chicago and throughout California.
