TEXAS: UT in line for Big 12 title game.

STILLWATER, Okla. — Oklahoma State quarterback Taylor Cornelius was nearly flawless against Oklahoma last week, only to misfire on a 2-point conversion pass to Tylan Wallace in a one-point loss.

On Saturday, the connection worked. Cornelius threw a touchdown pass to Wallace with 42 seconds remaining and Oklahoma State beat No. 7 West Virginia 45-41.

The low-key Cornelius didn’t show how disappointed he was in the way the Oklahoma game ended, but coach Mike Gundy had an idea how his redshirt senior felt.

“You could never see it, but you would think that inside it just tore him to pieces,” Gundy said.

In his final home game, Cornelius passed for 338 yards and five touchdowns and ran for 106 yards and another score to help Oklahoma State (6-5, 3-5 Big 12) become bowl eligible.

Down 31-14 at the half, the Cowboys won despite leading rusher Justice Hill sitting out with a rib injury.

“Our coaches made tremendous adjustments at halftime,” Gundy said. “I couldn’t be prouder of them.”

Chuba Hubbard rushed for a career-high 134 yards for Oklahoma State, and Dillon Stoner caught nine passes for a careerbest 127 yards.

Grier passed 364 yards and two touchdowns, but his Heisman campaign took a hit with the loss. Kennedy McKoy rushed for a career-high 148 yards for the Mountaineers.

West Virginia (8-2, 6-2, No. 9 CFP) faces Oklahoma next Friday and still has a shot at reaching the Big 12 title game.

Grier’s 6-yard touchdown run on fourth down in the fourth quarter gave West Virginia a 41-31 lead, but Cornelius’ 9-yard touchdown run and a stop by Oklahoma State’s defense put the Cowboys in position to win. NO. 6 OKLAHOMA 55, KANSAS 40

Kyler Murray accounted for two of his five touchdowns in the fourth quarter to help Oklahoma survive Kansas freshman running back Pooka Williams Jr.’s big game.

Oklahoma (10-1, 7-1 Big 12, No. 6 CFP) moved closer to a spot in the conference championship game, and Murray boosted his Heisman Trophy campaign in likely his final home game.

Williams rushed for a careerhigh 252 yards and two touchdowns and threw for a score for Kansas (3-8, 1-7). The Jayhawks have lost seven of the past eight games. TCU 16, BAYLOR 9

Jalen Reagor turned a short pass into a 65-yard score and later had a 37-yard touchdown on a fourth-and-1 reverse run as TCU beat Baylor in Waco, keeping the Bears from reaching bowl eligibility in their home finale. TCU (5-6, 3-5 Big 12), which had another starting quarterback get hurt, can get to a bowl for the 16th time in coach Gary Patterson’s 18 seasons with a win at home next Saturday against Oklahoma State.

Charlie Brewer threw for 163 yards and had a 7-yard TD run when he leaped over one of his blockers for Baylor (5-6, 3-5). But Brewer also had one of the two Bears fumbles that led to TCU points. KANSAS STATE 21, TEXAS TECH 6

Skylar Thompson returned from a concussion to throw for 213 yards and a touchdown, Blake Lynch hit four field goals and Kansas State’s defense grounded the sloppy Red Raiders in Manhattan, Kan.

Alex Barnes added 136 yards rushing for the Wildcats (5-6, 3-5 Big 12), who kept alive their bowl hopes by beating the Red Raiders (5-6, 3-5) for the seventh time in their last eight meetings.
