STANLEY A. SHORE

1942-2018

-

Stanley Anthony Shore passed away peacefully, surrounded by family in Houston, Texas, on November 12, 2018 at the age of 76.

Stanley is survived by Cynthia Lukasik Shore, his wife of 55 years; his two children, Bradford and his wife Deborah of New Caney, Texas; Scott and his wife Kari, of Tomball, Texas. His grandchildren include; Alex Bergeson of Odessa, Texas; and Jillian, Davis and Norah Shore of Tomball, Texas. He is survived by his siblings Sylvia Cortez, Joseph Szurszewski, and Joanne Badger of Pittsburgh.

Stan was born on March 13, 1942, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to Joseph and Helen Szurszewski. Attending a roller skating party in 1957, he met Cindy, and on August 24, 1963, they formed a bond for more than 55 years. After beginning work with H.H. Robertson in 1969, upward transfers took his growing family around the country and opened their hearts and home by adopting their two sons. He successfully retired in 2015. His children remember him as a gentle, outgoing, serving father, who taught them hard work and to love others before yourself. He was very dedicated to his love of God, his loving wife, his children and families, and his grandchildren.

Stan was accomplished at his ability to put others at ease. He always had a kind word to share, encouraged others to be honest, helpful, and never boastful and often had a horrible, albeit always clean, joke. He was a generous and dedicated husband and father, who loved golf, the Houston Astros, the Pittsburgh Steelers, and who was passionate about helping his community and Church, serving on numerous board positions as a dedicated member of Christ the Good Shepherd Catholic Church, in Spring, Texas for over 35 years.

A viewing is scheduled for Monday, November 19th from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Klein Church Funeral Home on Champions Forest Drive; vigil service beginning at 7 p.m.. A funeral and celebration of life is set for Tuesday, November 20th, beginning at 11a.m. at Christ the Good Shepherd Catholic Church, with burial service to follow. Father Innocent Okifo will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Stanley’s life. The family would like to thank Jackie Wright for her efforts, care, friendship, and dedication above and beyond what is asked of her.
