Marie Cunningham Warren died peacefully on November 11, 2018 at the age of 92 following a long life of faith, love, family, fun and adventure. “Mimi” was adored as wife, mother, grandmothe­r, great-grandmothe­r, sister, aunt and friend.

The oldest girl of 6 siblings, Marie was born in Florence, Texas on March 1, 1926. At the age of 18 at the University of Texas, she met and married her husband of 67 years, Wayne Warren. Following Wayne’s service in WWII they lived in Baytown; Washington, D.C.; Royal Oak, Michigan; Dallas; and Houston. They also enjoyed vacation homes in Kerrville and the Brenham area.

Marie excelled in bridge, golf, tennis, needlepoin­t, jigsaw puzzles and Rummikub. She will be remembered for her faith, love, humor, kindness, grace, strength and generosity.

She is survived by children Maggie Brown of Houston; Russ Warren (and Lyn) of Charlottes­ville, Virginia; and Deborah Rommel (and Ross) of Hunt, Texas. In addition she leaves 7 grandchild­ren and 6 great-grandchild­ren.

A Memorial Service honoring Marie will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 19th at St. Francis Episcopal Church, 345 Piney Point Road, Houston 77024, the Reverend Stuart Bates and the Reverend Dick Elwood officiatin­g.
