CLOTAIRE DOMINEQUE “DEL” DELERY, JR., M.D.

Clotaire Domineque “Del” Delery Jr., M.D. passed away peacefully at home on Monday, the 19th of November 2018, at the age of 87 with his family by his side. Del was born on the 11th of January 1931, in New Orleans, Louisiana as the only child of Clotaire Domineque Delery Sr. and Aleda Irene Engarran

Upon graduation as Valedictor­ian from Gretna High School in Louisiana, Del received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Tulane University and his Medical Degree from Louisiana State University, School of Medicine in New Orleans. Del served as an Emergency Medical Physician in the United States Air Force for two years. He also did his Radiology Residency at Charity Hospital in New Orleans.

Del practiced his specialty of Diagnostic Radiology in Houston since 1961, until his retirement from Medicine. Developmen­t of Houston Northwest Medical Center and Cypress-Fairbanks Medical Center and their Radiology Department­s highlighte­d his practice in previous years. Del served on both the Board of Directors and Management Committees of each medical facility and had membership­s in numerous local and national medical societies. In retirement, Del was involved with automotive hobbies, extensive travel and various charities.

Del enjoyed and supported many cultural organizati­ons such as The Houston Symphony, The Houston Grand Opera, The Houston Ballet, The Society for Performing Arts and The Museum of Fine Arts. He enjoyed giving back to Houston because Houston had been so good to him.

The family would like to thank Dr. Stuart Solomon, his cardiologi­st; and long time aide Lesly Perez and caregivers Geraldine Butler, Marquitta Harper, Sharon Hood, Nikki George and Rhonda Williams.

Del is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Eleanor “Andy” Fraser Delery; two children, son, Kenneth Jerome Delery and spouse, Molly McConn Delery and daughter, Dionne Delery Breen. He leaves behind four grandchild­ren, Dean Domineque Delery, Madeline Elizabeth Delery, Diandra Patricia Breen and Daniel Anthony Breen IV.

Del is also survived by Mrs. Jerome Fraser (sister-in-law) of Shreveport, Louisiana; Mrs. Rodney Landreneau (sister-in-law) of Eunice, Louisiana; Dr. & Mrs. James Robertson (sister-in-law & brother-in-law) of Sarasota, Florida along with numerous nieces and nephews.

The memorial mass celebratin­g his life is to be conducted at ten o’clock in the morning on Tuesday, the 27th of November, at St. Anne Catholic Church, 2140 Westheimer Road in Houston, where Fr. Clark Sample is to serve as celebrant.

Those serving as Honorary Pallbearer­s are Dean Delery, Daniel Breen IV, Bill Crassas, Jodie Hoffer, Ray Holtzapple, Ulyesse LeGrange, David McKeithan and Tom Sawyer.

In lieu of customary rememberan­ces, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributi­ons be directed toward The American Heart Associatio­n, 10900-B Stonelake Blvd., Austin, TX 78759; The Houston Symphony, 615 Louisiana St., Ste. 102, Houston, TX 77002; or to the Houston Grand Opera, 510 Preston St., Houston, TX 77002.
