WILLIAM WAYNE WHITAKER

1933-2018

William Wayne Whitaker (85) was promoted to heaven on Sunday, November 18th. Memorial services will be held on Friday, December 14th, 2018, 11 am, at Berachah Church, located at 2815 Sage Road, Houston, Texas 77056, where he and his wife have attended since 1965.

Wayne was born in Hamlin, Texas, on August 20, 1933. He graduated from Texas Tech University in 1955 with a degree in petroleum engineering. While completing his military service, he earned the rank of Captain in the United States Air Force, serving in the Strategic Air Command (SAC) program. After a decade, he left the oil industry to pursue his passion for real estate. He made a successful career buying, selling, and leasing homes in Houston and New Braunfels, Texas. He leaves his business interests as a legacy.

Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Joy Whitaker, a son, Gregory Whitaker and daughter, Kimberly Whitaker, along with daughter-in-law, Melissa Whitaker, and 3 beautiful granddaughters, Lauren Sanderlin and husband Tim, Robyn and Avery Whitaker. Wayne is also survived by 2 brothers, Bob Whitaker and wife Elaine of New Orleans, LA and Joe Whitaker and wife Colby of Plano, TX.
