Bunker Hill Village home features many appointments

- By Lisa Zapalac

Set amid more than a half-acre of scenic grounds, this country French brick home in Bunker Hill Village was completed in 2007. Listing agent Ruthie Newberry Porterfield of Martha Turner Sotheby’s International Realty said, “The transformative professional redesign energizes this classic residence’s light-filled floor plan.”

She said that the home features high-end finishes, refined millwork, fine marble and stone finishes, integrated formal and informal spaces and a dynamic palette of Farrow & Ball paints inside and out; and Farrow & Ball, Schumacher, Phillip Jefferies, and Stark wallpapers. The foyer and curved staircase with a customdesigned balustrade offers a preview of the attention to detail found throughout this home. An inviting conversation area takes advantage of the space underneath the staircase.

Just off the foyer is the library with arched, lighted display/bookcases; bolection molding; and tall, arched windows. Flanking the foyer, the formal dining room showcases tall, arched windows, rich paneling and an arched opening to the butler’s pantry.

The kitchen has a beamed ceiling, lightreflecting marble countertops and backsplash, a Wolf cooktop and wall ovens, a Miele microwave oven and coffee system, and a cabinet-front SubZero refrigerator and freezer. The breakfast bay overlooks the Astroturf play lawn and patio and has access to a rear service area that includes a return staircase, planning station, laundry room, pool bath, and access to the three-car garage and motor court.

Connecting the kitchen and dining room is an expansive wet bar that includes a wine room, a silver closet, glass-faced display cabinets, an ice machine, and honed Calacatta marble countertop.

Overlooking the back patios, the spacious den has tall French doors, a marble counter with an arched opening to the kitchen, a carved fireplace, a beamed ceiling and a pair of arched book/ display cases surrounding the fireplace.

The secluded first-floor master suite features a beamed ceiling, Schumacher wallpaper, a wide window overlooking the lawn, gardens, and pool; and a marble-clad master bath with a soaking tub beneath a window, television shelf, marble sink and vanity decks, an oversized marble glass shower, and a water closet. A large second vanity cabinet is in one of the master suite’s two custom-fitted closets.

The second floor has a game room with book/ display/storage cabinets and a mount for a largescreen television, and an adjoining kitchenette with an under-counter refrigerator, ice maker and sink.

Spacious secondary bedrooms all have custom-fitted walk-in closets and en-suite baths. A fifth bedroom is designed to also serve as quarters or a guest suite and includes access to the back stair hall, kitchenette and game room.

Herringbone-pattern brick patios and pavers, washed with Farrow & Ball masonry paint, create inviting outdoor living spaces around the pool and backyard that also features open-air patios and a covered summer kitchen, seating and dining area.

With five bedrooms, 6½ baths, this home at 1 Concord Circle is priced at $2,975,000.
