CONDO LIFE

- By Valerie Sweeten

Luxury condominium builders have thought of everything you could possibly imagine and then some when it comes to accommodating your kitchen experience.

Handcrafted, top-ofthe-line, exclusive and one-of-a-kind are more than just words — they are accurate descriptions of the illustrious kitchens one can find in the design of today’s kitchens for luxury high-rises.

Residents also will find kitchens designed with the expertise of interior designers and architects to ensure maximum comfort, functionality and aesthetically pleasing spaces equipped with the finest of materials.

Kitchens at The Astoria are finished with a contemporary style including 4-inch oak hardwood floors, Eggersman cabinets, Miele appliances and stone countertops.

Chef-inspired spacious kitchens at The Sophie at Bayou Bend accommodate cooking and entertaining with exquisite brands such as Wolf, Fisher & Paykel, Sub-Zero and SieMatic.

The Wilshire also is stocked with these superb appliance packages and SieMatic cabinetry.

Betty Harbourt, Sudhoff senior vice presidentmarketing, said at their latest condominium development, The Giorgetti, the cabinetry is handcrafted and designed by Giorgetti in Italy and is “beyond luxury.”

You can expect multiple levels above anticipated extravagance in most high-rise buildings.

“In general, all our new condominiums are not just higher end with the brand, they are often something that’s beyond. The great thing is you’re not sacrificing anything at all. These are all the equivalent to a custom-built, single-family home,” Harbourt said.

There are also double ovens with gas, electric or induction choices with options of converting if necessary or desired.

“These condos have us thinking down the road and how it might resale, so it’s a good investment. That what makes some of these more special. We’re thinking long term,” said Harbourt.

Countertops are also on point with porcelain designed to withstand the test of time as well as being heat and stain resistant, Harbourt added. They are in the highly coveted waterfall edge contemporary design. Backsplashes also come in a variety of options.

“It’s all been planned by an architect and interior decorators from day one with the details. There’s all the trends they crave,” said Harbourt.

At Randall Davis properties, the Marlowe and Arabella, their kitchens are designed with luxe living in mind.

They include complete Gaggenau kitchens to provide the finest in appliances as well as plenty of counter space and Eggersmann custom cabinets made in Germany.

Not to be forgotten is the importance of excellent lighting in and around the kitchen.

“There’s recessed lighting and under-cabinet lighting. There’s also the opportunity for customization with a chandelier or pendant lighting. It’s all very clean and on trend,” Harbourt said.
