Jesse Rios Corpus, 85, was born on August 3, 1933 in Houston (2nd Ward), Texas to Jose Maria Corpus and Josephine Rios Corpus and was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on January 25, 2019 in Humble, Texas while surrounded by his loving family. Jesse was a loving husband, father, grandfathe­r and friend. A hardworkin­g man and great provider. Jesse graduated Jeff Davis High in 1953. He proudly served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War Conflict and was stationed at the 38th Parallel and served as an Air Traffic Controller. Jesse loved playing sports, especially basketball and played many years with the Latin American Baseball Teams in Houston. Jesse was Life Time Member of the VFW 9187 which he volunteere­d for many years to raise scholarshi­p funds for deserving students and families in need. “Grandpa” was loved and admired by his children and grandchild­ren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Ricard Garcia (August 2009); his grandson, Richard Garcia. Jr. (November 1996); also, by his siblings, Lupe, Ramona, Gabriela, Joe, and David. Jesse leaves behind to treasure beloved memories his wife of 60 years of marriage, Mary L. Corpus; his sons, Jesse Joe Corpus, David Corpus & wife Karla, and Jesse Garcia & wife Lucia; his daughters, Norma Stephenson & husband Doug and Irene King & husband Troy; his daughter in law, Alicia Garcia; 10 grandchild­ren; 14 great grandchild­ren; he is also survived by many other relatives and friends. And special thanks to his caregiver, Thelma Cummick. Jesse will be dearly missed by all those who shared wonderful memories and loved him.

Visitation will take place on Monday, February 4, 2019 from 5pm to 9pm with a Rosary being recited at 7pm. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at 11:30am. Rite of Committal will follow in Houston National Cemetery with full Military Honors.
