Chesmar to break ground in NorthGrove for GHBA charity

-

The community of NorthGrove is the site for a 2019 Greater Houston Builders Association (GHBA)Benefit Home to be built by Chesmar Homes. Toll Brothers, the community developer, donated the homesite. Chesmar is building their Mesquite Ppan for this 39-year-old charity fundraiser.

NorthGrove is located off FM 2978 in Magnolia, in southern Montgomery County. The community is conveniently located within proximity to The Woodlands while offering a more intimate small town feel. It is also just convenient to major employers, shopping centers, al fresco dining and cultural centers.

The community has 200-plus acres of preserved green space, hikeand-bike trails, natural waterscapes, luxury outdoor gathering spaces, three community lakes and a 7.5-acre recreation center called The Retreat. This center gets its name for the 9,400-square-foot clubhouse that has a contemporary-style lodge design and features several amenities.

Chesmar Homes is constructing their 2,746square-foot Mesquite plan that is a two-story design featuring four bedrooms with a fifth bedroom/study option, three full baths, walk-in closets, a game room, an island kitchen and a two-story open family room off the kitchen.

“For Toll Brothers, it's a great honor to contribute to such a meaningful cause," said David Assid, Toll Brothers Houston division president. "It is evident by the tremendous success of the Benefit Homes Project, that it truly makes a profound difference in our community.”

Toll Brothers and Chesmar are breaking ground for the Benefit Home this month.

"It is a real honor to have the team of Toll Brothers and their beautiful NorthGrove community in partnership with Chesmar Homes, now a six-time Benefit homes builder," said Terry Swenson, public relations director of the GHBA. "Not only will two local charities benefit from this partnership, the family that purchases this home is also going to benefit from the incredible upgrades and amenities the home and community will offer."

Hundreds of GHBA members have participated in the Benefit Homes Project throughout its history. Two to three homes are built with donated materials, labor, services and time. The Benefit Homes Project has raised $11 million since it began.

Not one year has gone by since then, that GHBA's generous vendors/suppliers and trades have not made this happen. Everything from the land, surveys, construction and closings have been donated. The companies that participate range from large national organizations, to local one-man operations.

The beneficiaries of the Benefit Home sale are HomeAid Houston and Operation Finally Home (OFH).

This means that through HomeAid Houston, homeless men, women, children and veterans will have a safe, stable environment to begin rebuilding their lives. It also means that through Operation Finally Home, wounded veterans and their families will own a home that is constructed to meet their needs through the direction and vetting by the OFH team.
