The Mondrian at the Museums set to deliver a unique living experience

- By Valerie Sweeten

The Mondrian at the Museums, a luxury boutique condominium midrise, is set to deliver a unique living experience for residents who want a close-up experience with Houston’s Museum District.

With proximity to Hermann Park and its 445 acres of lush landscaping, homeowners also have ease of access to Houston Metro light rail, Texas Medical Center, and downtown Houston. This property comes with a walking score of 83, as it’s directly across from Asia Society Texas Center and in one of the most walkable neighborhoods in Houston.

Residing in the heart of the city is why there’s easy access to a variety of the its best cultural activities. There are 19 museums, Miller Outdoor Theatre, the world-class Houston Zoo, the 18-hole Hermann Park golf course, and Rice University within walking distance.

Nearby restaurants range from the Monarch Bistro at the Hotel Zaza to Danton’s, MF Sushi, Barnaby’s, and Lucille’s.

The museums nearby are Children’s Museum of Houston, Contemporary Arts Museum Houston, Czech Center Museum Houston, DiverseWorks, Holocaust Museum Houston, Houston Center for Contemporary Craft, Houston Center for Photography and the Houston Museum of African American Culture.

“The location is so exciting,” said Betty M. Harbourt, senior vice president of marketing at Sudhoff. “The neighborhood has become so walkable. Museums are next door, as are several restaurants. The whole area has transformed, with more to come.”

Privacy is a plus, with only 20 residences in The Mondrian’s eight-story mid-rise building located at 5104 Caroline St.

Outdoors are large private terraces with amenities such as a gas fireplace, a built-in grill, and it’s also pre-wired for television over the fireplace. The two 4,400-square-foot penthouse units are designed with an interior courtyard with a Japanese-style Zen garden and a small infinity lap pool.

The indoor spaces are as relaxing and comfortable as anticipated.

Units feature three or four bedrooms with floorto-ceiling windows and two-story art gallery walls. Floor plans average approximately 3,000 square feet.

Buyers will find 10-foot standard ceiling heights in residences as well as 20foot-8-inch double-height volumes in select living areas.

The entry, living, dining, kitchen, and powder rooms all come with Select wide-plank white oak engineered hardwood flooring with acoustic underlayment.

Special touches in the master suites are evident with a freestanding soaking tub, designer plumbing fixtures, and frameless shower enclosures in the master bath.

The building was designed by Perkins + Will, an internationally renowned architecture firm. Interiors are by the MaRS/ Mayfield & Ragni Studio team.

The building will also have a 24-hour concierge and covered, enclosed parking with direct secured access to the building.

Pricing starts at $1-plus million.
