Ms. Madeline Leah Mathews Weds Mr. Jordan Wyatt Thomas

Ms. Madeline Leah Mathews and Mr. Jordan Wyatt Thomas were united in marriage Saturday, October 12, 2019, at five o’clock in the afternoon at Hotel Peter & Paul in New Orleans. The doublering ceremony was officiated by Mr. Randy Reimer of Houston. Following the ceremony, dinner and dancing took place at Hotel Peter & Paul, with catering by Bacchanal and the Elysian Bar, décor by Leaf & Petal, and entertainment by the Nola Dukes. After-parties were held at d.b.a and the Ritz-Carlton Hotel.

Friday evening festivities took place at Galatoire’s, with Lee and Dorothy Thomas hosting a rehearsal dinner and Dixie Thomas hosting a welcome cocktail party. A traditional Second Line parade took place through the French Quarter.

The bride is the daughter of Sharon Havard Mathews and Gregory Scott Mathews of Houston. She is the granddaughter of Barbara Ruth Havard and the late Colonel Robert Noel Havard of Sugar Land, and the late Geneva Lorraine Mathews and the late William James Mathews of Austin. The groom is the son of Dixie Smily Thomas and Lee Muller Thomas of Atlanta. He is the grandson of the late Dorothy Edge Smily and the late Michael Smily of Tampa, Florida, and the late Laura Muller Thomas and the late Robert Walton Thomas of Ridgeway, South Carolina.

Serving in the wedding party were Courtney Blackburn and Ashley Timbrell of Houston, Bliss Brazil of Tyler, Haley Bunting of Dallas, Blake Cavender and Sofia Ortega of San Antonio, Dean Chapman, Michael Stratton, and Laura Teten of New York, Caroleene Dobson of Birmingham, Madison Kitchens, Braden Thomas, and Callie Thomas of Atlanta, Kirby Kristen and Kade Roybal of Los Angeles, Hallie Parchman and Charisse Sayers of Austin, and Guru Raj of Seattle. Readings were given by Morgan Kaufman and Ellie Thomas.

Madeline is a graduate of St. John’s School in Houston. She attended The University of Texas at Austin and graduated with honors from the Plan II Honors Program. She received her J.D. from The University of Texas School of Law. Madeline works as an attorney at Liskow & Lewis.

Jordan is a graduate of The Westminster Schools in Atlanta. He attended Harvard University and graduated summa cum laude with a dual degree in Physics and Mathematics. He received his master’s degree in Mathematics from Cambridge University and received his Ph.D. in Mathematics from New York University. Jordan is a data scientist at Accenture.

Madeline and Jordan will honeymoon in French Polynesia and reside in Houston.
