Builder Spotlight on Winkler Development Inc.
The beautiful Lake Conroe presents itself as the perfect place to either settle down or enjoy the shores as a weekend getaway.
Winkler Development Inc., led by president Jim Winkler, has seen the demand and met the need of consumers. This familyowned company has served the Montgomery County community for 30 years, building custom homes and developing communities on Lake Conroe.
“We knew there was plenty of opportunity, and we love the small-town atmosphere. The locals are so friendly. We also see professional athletes and celebrities now visiting the lake,” Winkler said.
Their company consists of his wife, Lynn, and son, James. They only do one development at a time to focus on quality control and customer satisfaction.
“My wife is the decorator, my son is our marketing rep, and I’m the builder,” said Winkler.
Their newest development, The Shoreline, is Winkler’s “baby.” Buyers can choose from two-, three- and four-bedroom luxury condominium homes all on the waterfront, with amazing views and access to the marina Winkler said.
The design of the condos is all top of the line, Winkler said.
“There are large open rooms with … lots of windows, and massive balconies with stunning glass balcony railings. A lot of planning went into the design. We utilized Bosch appliances, quartz countertops throughout, custom cabinets, 100 percent waterproof flooring, Pella windows and doors with a lifetime warranty and a metal roof system that lasts 100 years,” said Winkler.
In addition, the development is very private, secure, and impeccably maintained.
“We have a full-time staff that manicures the property,” he said. “We also have two swimming pools overlooking the lake, a hot tub, tropical landscaping, three grilling stations and fire pits. We also offer covered parking, two elevators that service all five levels and electric car-charging stations.”
With every need met, residents have nothing to worry about with this lockand-leave lifestyle setting.
Everything is taken care of and maintained by the HOA and on-site staff.
Residents also have embraced the walkability of The Shoreline, which is within range of Winkler’s other development known as Waterpoint, he said. Here they’ll find Starbucks and three waterfront restaurants with indoor and outdoor dining.
“The residents can walk from their condo to the restaurants,” said Winkler. Waterpoint also offers a Paul Mitchell Hair Salon, massage/spa services, Malibu Nails, Marble Slab, a fun fish-feeding pier for the kids and a half-mile-long walking trail that meanders along the shoreline.”
Future plans for Winkler include expanding Waterpoint.
Waterpoint is slated to have an additional 30,000 more square feet of retail, offices, and more restaurants. The new addition will offer a lakeside Italian restaurant with wine bar with indoor and outdoor dining, a Mediterranean deli, office space with lake views, and 60 more marina slips. This new addition breaks ground in December and will be complete in fall 2020, said Winkler.
Living on Lake Conroe is the perfect place to be, said Winkler, who has four generations of family living there.
“Living on the lake is similar to being on vacation each day. We always discover new secret places to take the boat. It’s like a treasure hunt. We’re also excited to have Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville coming to Lake Conroe.
Even though Margaritaville isn’t one of our developments, we excited to have them as neighbors. We invite everyone to come to the lake for a visit and enjoy the lake lifestyle,” he said.
