Festival of Trees benefiting The Ballard House returns to Katy’s Cane Island

-

A year after raising $90,000 for The Ballard House of Katy, Festival of Trees returns to Cane Island, Nov. 29-30, when families can purchase custom-designed Christmas trees and wreaths, browse a holiday gift market, enjoy live entertainment, photos with Santa and more.

Proceeds from this year’s Festival of Trees will again benefit The Ballard House and its mission of providing temporary housing for patients and their families coming to the Katy area for extended medical treatment.

Festival hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. both days with free on-site parking available. All festival activities will be held in the Cane Island’s Cane Quarter, 2100 Cane Island Parkway.

All eyes at the festival will be on the Parade of Trees, more than 100 custom-designed Christmas trees and wreaths expertly themed and decorated by neighbors, businesses and organizations. Each tree is available for purchase; visitors can browse the collection for decorating ideas and fun Instagram photos.

As for holiday shopping, Festival of Trees will showcase more than 50 local exhibitors presenting crafts, jewelry, foods, gift items and great holiday finds. Families also will enjoy live music, photos with Santa, food truck cuisine and fireside marshmallow roasting.

Plus, a Big Fun Kidz Zone with bounce houses, trackless train, face painting, balloon artists and pony rides will keep the little ones busy while the “big kids” will enjoy a collection of vintage and classic cars presented by the Katy Cruizers car collector club.

Cane Island’s collection of models homes, each fully furnished and expertly decorated, also will be open to the public with free admission.
