Celebrating 15 years of ‘Media That Matters’
It’s hard to believe 2020 will mark 15 years since we launched BIC Media Solutions and published our first book, “It’s What We Do Together That Counts — The BIC Alliance Story.” Since then, BIC Media has published numerous books and produced several films, so I want to begin by thanking everyone who has read our books or watched our movies over the past 15 years.
When we launched BIC Media Solutions in 2005, our goal was to create “Media That Matters” to help others find greater faith, hope, peace, happiness and success through our books and movies. Today, our goal is still to publish and produce inspirational and family-friendly books and movies that can be used as gifts or donations. Plus, we offer books and movies at reduced rates for those who want to use them as part of their fundraising campaigns.
Everything changed in 2013, when IVS Investment Banking’s John Zapalac and I decided to expand BIC Media into movie production. BIC Media’s “Rock Bottom and Back” was the first project that involved publishing a book and creating a companion DVD to accompany it.
In late 2018 and early 2019, BIC Media also launched two new TV series: “The Power of Networking” and “Champions of Christian Networking.” Provicom, a state-of-the-art production company based in Houston, partnered with BIC Media to produce “The Power of Networking.” “Champions of Christian Networking” was co-produced by Baltimore-based DBM Films and directed by Doug Maddox.
We have published more than 10 books and produced two feature-length films, “A Gift Horse” (2013) and “Urban Country” (2017). In 2019, BIC Media released an updated version of its first book, “It’s What We Do Together That Counts.” This revised edition tells the ongoing story of BIC Alliance and its strategic entities. It also includes insights into the success of more than 100 executives, entrepreneurs and others representing different businesses and sectors of industry. Audience responses to all of these projects have exceeded our expectations. With this anniversary upon us, here’s a list of the books BIC Media has helped publish, almost all of which can be purchased at BICMediaSolutions.com/shop.
• “It’s What We Do Together That Counts — The BIC Alliance Story”
• “Rock Bottom and Back — From
Desperation to Inspiration”
• “Earl’s Pearls — Jewels of Wisdom Worth Passing On”
• “Louisiana Sports Legends and Heroes — Leaving a Legacy”
• “Michael Learns to Listen”
• “Industry Achievers”
• “Energy Entrepreneurs”
• “The Journey — A Practical Guide to Becoming an Exceptional Supervisor”
• “Turner Industries — 50 Years of Industrial Innovation”
As you may know already, one of my greatest passions is helping others find greater faith, peace, happiness and success. With this goal in mind, BIC Media recently began producing “career enhancement” videos. On BICMediaSolutions. com, there are several videos — “How to get along with your boss,” “Leadership tips,” “Becoming a better person in 12 easy steps,” etc. — that are free and part of the “Earl’s Pearl’s” video series.
Since we began publishing books in 2005 and producing movies and TV shows in 2013, BIC Media (with the help of others, as well) has distributed or sold over 50,000 copies of our books and movies. Most of these have been used for family entertainment, gifts, donations or fundraising. Over the years, I’ve found that using “Media That Matters” is one of the best ways to help enhance lives and build better relationships with others.
Through BIC Media’s speakers bureau, we also supply speakers who bring inspiration, motivation and value to any setting. Our vast network of resources allows us to partner with top industry experts who offer messages on a range of topics such as energy, safety, leadership, management and sales.
We have a ton of exciting projects on the horizon, and we’re excited to see what the next year has in store for BIC Media. We are planning on producing a “Christ-Centered Business Summit” in 2020. This one-of-a-kind event would focus on how to build a faith-based and wholesome company, helping attendees find greater faith, happiness, success and fulfillment. BIC Media is also considering producing a TV series about “Faith in the Workplace” in the near future.
