Store clerk shot during robbery
A convenience store clerk is expected to survive after he was shot around 2:50 a.m. Saturday at the East Houston Food Mart, police said.
“Two individuals came in, demanded money, and during that altercation the victim was shot several times,” said Christopher Bruce, a Houston police lieutenant.
Responding officers applied compression until paramedics arrived at the store on the corner of East Houston and Ley Roads, Bruce said. The clerk was conscious and breathing when he left the scene.
The two people responsible fled on foot, Bruce said.
