- By Rebecca Maitland CORRESPONDENT

Today is such an opportune time to be in real estate and to invest in a home in Houston.

“Our city is growing and thriving, and I encourage my clients to find a home and make it their own. I am currently marketing The Westmore, a boutique luxury midrise that offers Houstonians a central home in a walkable neighborhood,” said Brenda Bland Wilson, a Realtor with Douglas Elliman.

The Westmore features midcentury modern architecture, and will have 33 homes on seven floors, as well as amenities.

The chance to get out of a car and walk to the grocery or dinner from home and be able to drive minutes to work downtown or in the Medical Center is a dream for many.

Focus areas

Wilson’s focus areas span Houston. However, she concentrates in the central neighborhoods: West University, Museum District, east Houston, River Oaks, Montrose, Heights, Bellaire and Tanglewood.

“I have spent time in Houston all of my life, as my mother is a native Houstonian. I was blessed to spend my early years growing up in New Orleans and Puerto Rico, and my family moved here while I was in high school,” Wilson said.

In the 11 years of growing up in Puerto Rico, gives her an appreciation for the international community in Houston.

She is also fluent in Spanish and proficient in French.

Real estate is part of Wilson’s DNA.

“I am a people person and I love the relationships built with clients who are now friends, as well as helping them and their adult children find the perfect new home as their needs change and develop,” Wilson said.

Wilson has been a licensed broker since 1980 and feels like she has been in real estate all of her life as the daughter of one of Houston’s premier residential developers.

She has enjoyed learning first-hand about the planning, design, construction and sale of property.

“We grew up visiting homes and high rises he built. So real estate was a natural for me. In fact, his company is developing The Westmore.” Wilson said.

Her dedication to her clients, their needs, and attention to detail, excellent customer service, and support in every transaction are of foremost importance to Wilson.

Her goal is to make buying, selling and leasing a home as pleasant as possible for each client she works with. She also is outgoing, creative and discerning.

“I love seeing my clients happy in their new home,” Wilson said.
