CORONAVIRUS COMES TO HOUSTON AREA
On Wednesday, Fort Bend County announced that a man in his 70s had a “presumptively positive” diagnosis of COVID-19, the disease caused by the new coronavirus, becoming the state’s first nonimported case. The following day, four new cases were announced in Houston and Harris County, and, as of Saturday the tally stood at eight in the area. A Houston lab received a new coronavirus test kit and the region is expected to get a share of an $8.3 billion federal aid package for diagnostic, prevention and treatment efforts.
