Biden takes Texas; city has voting problems
Buoyed by voters in Houston and Dallas, a resurgent Joe Biden used a come-from-behind surge in Texas and throughout the American South to further cement the race for the Democratic nomination for president as a two-person battle. The former vice president beat out Vermont U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders, who snagged big wins in Austin and San Antonio.
Billionaire Michael Bloomberg and Massachusetts U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren dropped their bids for the presidential nomination.
The primary election was not without its woes. Hundreds stood in line for hours at Texas Southern University to vote, bogged down by a turnout surge and a lack of Democratic voting machines in the heavily Democratic precinct.
