- By Rebecca Maitland

The real estate industry is in transition, with business models shifting with the ever-changing markets.

“This is one of the reasons I work hard to maintain my clients’ trust. They need to know I am up to the minute on current trends, data and market conditions,” said Adriana Banks, a Realtor with Douglas Elliman Real Estate.

Banks has been a Realtor for 10 years and has seen many changes in the industry, but not as quickly as they are happening now.

“During this challenging time, I am here to support my clients on a personal and professional level with the backing of Douglas Elliman Real Estate, as we stand strong and committed to Houston,” Banks said.

Banks’ main focus areas include inside Loop 610, River Oaks, Tanglewood/

Briargrove, Upper Kirby, Afton Oaks, Memorial, Heights, Oak Forest/Garden Oaks, West University, Boulevard Oaks, Katy, Rice/Museum District, Montrose, downtown area, and more.

“Moreover, it is a great time to buy a house, as interest rates are low,” Banks said.

Banks is a native Houstonian, so she knows the many different areas in and around Houston, which her clients appreciate. She also graduated from Tulane University with a degree in general business/consumer behavior that was marketing centered.

“I was a part of the American Marketing Association and took every negotiations class offered, for I love to negotiate. My parents said I started at 3 years old,” Banks said.

Real estate is in Banks’ DNA from her family. She also chose this field because she loves the relationships and working for her clients’ buying and selling needs.

“Knowledge is power, so I also strive to educate my clients so they can make the best decisions,” Banks said.

Banks is known for being hard working, a good listener, honest and direct, and a numbers person, which benefits her clients. She also thinks outside of the box, is reliable, knowledgeable, and gets the job done.

Prior to real estate, Banks held jobs that prepared her for helping clients buy and sell homes. For example, she worked as a certified landman for an oil and gas company, which enhanced her love of real estate. Eventually, she started a public relations department for the company and later worked as a fundraiser. These positions helped refine her business, sales, and people skills, so becoming a Realtor was a natural transition.

All of Banks’ experience and skills have accumulated into her consistently being a top producer since obtaining her licenses.
