So far: Rockets 43-25, Kings 29-40.

Lately: The Rockets are 3-1 in seeding games, taking wins against each of the teams, the Bucks and Lakers, to have clinched the top spots in their conferences. The Kings are 1-4 in restart following a win against the Pelicans with a loss Sunday to the Nets.

They are 21-2 when holding opponents shy of 110 points. … The Rockets on Thursday moved to 30-7 when James Harden scores 34 points, his average, or more this season. Scouting the Kings: The Kings loss to the Nets on Friday dropped them to last in the Western Conference among teams in the restart, but the Trail Blazers’ loss Saturday kept Sacramento’s slim playoff hopes alive. … With a win, the Kings will have won the season series for the first time since 2003-04 but have lost 19 of 22 games vs. Houston. Marvin Bagley III (sprained foot) and Richaun Holmes (hip soreness) are out.

By the numbers: 284 — 30-point games for James Harden since joining the Rockets in 2012. LeBron James has the next most in that stretch with 183, 10 more than Russell Westbrook.
