Culver goes extra mile for clientele

- By Rebecca Maitland CORRESPONDENT

Doug Culver’s father was in the Navy, so his family continued to move, even during his later teen years. When he was in high school, he attended four high schools in two states.

Growing up, this was challenging for him, but he learned quickly how to make friends, build relationships with a diverse group, to listen closely, and more.

But most of all, this native Texan and his wife have been in Houston for 39 years, and its good to be settled and be home.

“When my family was moving so much, it was hard on all of us. But I see many of the benefits in my life today. I love people, and I love meeting new people. I also love Houston,” said Culver, a Realtor with Greenwood King Properties.

After Culver graduated from Texas A&M — Kingsville with a marketing degree and a master’s in public administration from the University of Houston, he worked as a retail buyer for some of the nation’s largest department stores.

“I learned many skills from this position, such as meeting the client’s needs and goals, solving problems, overcoming challenges, organization, and business skills. All of these transferred to my real estate career easily,” Culver said.

When Culver and his wife were buying their first home in Houston, their Realtor was with Greenwood King Properties. When they were buying their second home in Southgate, near West University, they returned to Greenwood King.

“Working with Greenwood King was a wonderful experience. The Realtors we worked with were professional and so helpful. The market knowledge, expertise and the quiet confidence of their agents (are things) I can now share with my clients,” Culver said.

After the Culvers bought their second house, the Realtor said Culver himself would be a good Realtor.

“I had thought about being a Realtor for a long time, and when it was time to make a change in my life, I took the leap, got my licenses and went to Greenwood King Properties,” Culver said.

Culver is known for sincerely caring for his clients, as well as being a good listener, hard-working, available 24/7, outgoing, friendly, organized, approachable, professional, and ethical.

“I love working with my clients and am honored to be part of their lives in helping them with one of the largest purchases most will make. I try to make the process as smooth as possible, manage the process, and solve any problems that might arise,” Culver said.
