Realtor said the greater Heights area ‘as hot as ever’

- By Valerie Sweeten

Realtor Mark Fontenot with Beth Wolff Realtors Real Living has seen inner Houston areas continue to thrive.

His focus area, which is the greater Heights and Inner Loop that are seeing commercial businesses booming, is making homeowners thrilled to live there.

“My clients are excited about social options near their homes,” said Fontenot. “Each neighborhood is different, but everyone is buying in this area because of the ease of being social and the diversity in entertainment and food.”

The market in and around the Heights is as hot as ever, he said.

“Home inventory has been down since the end of 2019, and with interest rates at an all-time low, buyer competition is fierce,” said Fontenot.

Fontenot grew up in northwest Houston and returned to Houston in 2016 after moving away to attend college. Fontenot currently resides in Oak Forest in a remodeled home.

“I strongly believe that Oak Forest/Garden Oaks

isn’t far away from being the next hot market with lower prices, larger home square footage options, larger lots, and desirable elementary schools. There’s plenty of room for commercial real estate growth to bring more exciting social options,” Fontenot said.

Fontenot, a Louisiana State University graduate, choose real estate after a 12-year career in the resort industry because he’s passionate about serving others. Using his skills from this former career has come in useful since he began in December 2016.

“I learned attention to detail, how to take care of people, and anticipate needs,” he said. “I knew I wanted to work in an industry where I could work one on one with people and help solve problems. Real estate allows me to do all of those things with the flexibility of spending quality time with my family.”

His efforts of serving his clients successfully have paid off.

Fontenot was named a Top Producer in both 2019 and 2020. To better serve his clients, he is relocation certified with Brookfield Global Relocation Services. He said communication is key when working with his clients.

“I am more beneficial to them by knowing them, their families, and their short- and long-term plans. Buying or selling a home doesn't have to be a burden or headache. My goal is to make it as easy as possible by knowing what they need and want while being as efficient with their time as I can be. I'll always put their needs above my own with the hopes that we can form a lasting relationship that goes beyond a real estate transaction,” Fontenot said.
