Road rage cited in shooting; woman dies, teen injured

An apparent road rage incident Friday night is believed to have led to the death of a 38-year-old woman and critical injuries for a 14-year-old girl, officials said.

San Antonio police officers responded to North Interstate 35 around 9:31 p.m. for a shooting in progress. There, they found a car that crashed into a fence. Three people were inside; two of them suffering from gunshot wounds, police said.

The 38-year-old woman in the car appeared to have been shot and was taken to San Antonio Military Medical Center, where she later died of her injuries. The 14-year-old girl also had a gunshot wound, and she was in critical condition when she was hospitaliz­ed.
