Mario Turtur, Jr. was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey on February 1, 1930 and died in Houston, Texas on April 6, 2021 after suffering a longterm illness.

Mario attended high school at Trinity-Pawling School in Pawling, New York and attended college at Colgate University in Hamilton, New York. He served his country as a pilot in the US Air Force during the Korean War.

Mario married Mariam Bonnie Newbatt in 1951 raising their 3 children after moving to Houston, Texas. Bonnie was taken early in 1983 after battling a longterm illness and went to be with the Lord. Mario later married Carol Howard Turtur who in 2015 deceased and went to be with the Lord.

Mario had a highly successful career in Life Insurance and Estate Planning with Connecticu­t General and later started Turtur & Associates.

Mario is survived by his children, Christophe­r Mario Turtur, Stephen Peter Turtur and his wife Elizabeth Turtur, and Andrea Marie Turtur; grandchild­ren Eden Turtur, Alexa Turtur, Bonnie Turtur Pavese and her husband Pino Pavese, Stephanie Turtur, Stephen Turtur, Antony Turtur, and Cristian Turtur; and mother to Eden and Alexa, Sunni Turtur.

Mario was laid to rest with a private internment for the immediate family on Saturday, April 10th at the Mausoleum at Memorial Oaks Cemetery in Houston, Texas.
