MARY HELEN ALEXANDER BARTLETT, 99, of Brenham, Texas peacefully passed away on Easter Sunday, April 4, 2021 at Scott and White Hospital in Brenham with family and friends by her side. She moved from Houston to Brenham seven years ago to be near family. Mary Helen was born on

April 15, 1921 in Pearland, Texas, the third of 10 children to Charles Hansbrough and Helen Drisdale Alexander. Mary was just 11 days from her 100th birthday.

Mary was a member of

First Presbyteri­an Church in Houston for 66 years where she and her beloved Boykin were married. Mary was highly involved in fundraisin­g for the Houston Symphony, The Heritage Society, and the Museum of Fine Arts.

She and Boykin also loved to explore with friends and family and traveled to South and Central America, Europe, Russia, and almost every state in the U.S.

She is survived by her daughter Helen Hink of Chappell Hill, Texas and son William T. Bartlett and wife Katherine of Pearland, her grandchild­ren Fred B. Hink and wife Kirsten of Houston, Geoffrey Hink of Chappell Hill, Thomas Bartlett and wife Kellie of Austin, Margaret Bartlett of Houston, and her great grandchild­ren Christina Hink of London, England, Harrison Hink of Houston, and Henry Bartlett of Austin.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband B. Boykin Bartlett, son-in-law Fred W. Hink, grandson Warren Hink, her brothers Jack Alexander and wife Francis, John Alexander and wife

Sally, Tom Alexander and wife Bettye, Bob Alexander and wife Dolores, Jud Alexander, and sisters Martha Crouch and husband Guy, and Elizabeth Nisbet and husband John, and brother-in-law Walter Morrison.

Serving as pallbearer­s will be Fred B. Hink, Geoffrey Hink, Dr. Craig Crouch, Johnny Bill Alexander, Alex Wood, and Harrison Hink. Honorary pallbearer­s Dr. Lloyd R. Ferguson and Russell Kibbe.

The service is on Tuesday, April 13, 2021, 10:00 AM, South Park Funeral Home, 1310 N Main St., Pearland, TX 77581, with interment to follow at South Park Cemetery. The Rev. John Wood will serve as officiant.
