Joseph Victor Swales, affectionately known as “Papa Joe”, was born December,

Joe loved Findlay and always fondly referred to it as “home”. He graduated from Culver Military Academy in 1972, and attended Miami of Ohio, where he was on the swim team and a member of Phi Gamma Delta. Upon graduation, he worked in the oil and gas industry, spending 17 years in London/ Scotland where he met and married Wendy. They had two children, James W.E. “Jamie” Swales, and Olivia M.E. “Olive” Swales. In 1993 he and the family moved to Sugar Land, TX. Joe married his second wife, Waukita in 2008. He loved mentoring young industry professionals and his expert negotiation skills were respected worldwide by all who knew him. After a brief illness,

Joe slipped peacefully away March 29, 2021. He is survived by his son Jamie Swales & wife, Brittany of Houston, TX; daughter Olivia Swales of Brooklyn, NY; Sister, Susan Swales of New Canton, VA; brother David Swales & wife, Kim and their children; Will, Harry and Kate of Houston, TX; his two canine kiddos, Gracie & Riley; and a host of incredible friends too numerous to mention. Rest in Peace “Papa Joe”.
