Haroldine Lee Freireich,

90, of Houston, Texas passed away peacefully on

May 21st, 2021, surrounded by her family at her beautiful home in Hedwig Village.

Haroldine was born in Elgin, Illinois on July 15th, 1930 to William and Eleanor Cunningham. She graduated from Lake Forest High School in Lake Forest, Illinois in 1948.

Haroldine began her career as a registered nurse at Boston Mass General. It was there that she met Emil, the love of her life. On March 13, 1953, Haroldine and Emil were married and started a beautiful family of their own. Their eldest daughter Debra Ann was born in 1954, followed by their eldest son David Alan in 1955, daughter Lindsay Gail in 1958, and Thomas Jon in 1960. The six of them shared a life full of adventure and laughter together, eventually settling in Houston, Texas in 1965. Haroldine was resilient, loving, and passionate about life. She shared a particular love for her grandchildren, the theatre, good food, and baseball with her husband, Emil. Despite the many challenges she faced through her years, Haroldine openly recognized life as a gift of time and ensured she did everything she could to instill gratitude for each day into those she loved most.

Haroldine is survived by her daughter Debbie and sonin-law Ralph Beir, her son David and daughter-in-law Susan Freireich, her daughter Lindsay, her son Tom and daughter-in-law Kelly, as well as her grandchildren Chris and his wife Bethany Cunningham,

T.J., Sam, Macy, Emily, and Ellen Freireich, and her great-grandchildren Wyatt, Lyla and Myles Cunningham. Haroldine is also survived by; her brother David and sister-in-law

Geri Cunningham; her aunt Marion Battin; many nieces, nephews and a host of lifelong friends.

Haroldine is preceded in death by her beloved husband Emil J Freireich, who passed away only 110 days prior to his wife ~ the longest time they were ever apart from each other. Haroldine is also preceded in death by her mother Eleanor Cunningham, father William Cunningham, aunt Elizabeth McGrew and brother Robert Cunningham .

A funeral service for Haroldine Freireich will be held in Houston, Texas on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at 2:30 PM at the First Congregational Church, at 10840 Beinhorn, Houston, TX 77024 at 2:30 pm. The interment will follow at Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
