A handful of Harris County defendants bonded out of jail four, five or six times before being charged with murder.

• Jose Aranda Lona was out on six misdemeano­r bonds for a string of car break-ins, police said. He allegedly attacked a neighbor in March 2019 over a money dispute, killing him.

• Michael Mosley was out on three misdemeano­r and three felony bonds when authoritie­s accused him of orchestrat­ing a November 2020 convenienc­e store robbery that left a 61-year-old man shot to death.

• Jesus Gallegos was out on four felony bonds and a misdemeano­r when he was accused in November 2020 of beating his girlfriend to death, two months after he was charged with assaulting her.

Other defendants, Henry Banks and Justin Parker, each had four felony bonds.
