Courtroom stats

Regarding “As killings tied to defendants out on bond rise in Houston, crime data reveals a crisis in courts,” ( July 9): Great article by Nicole Hensley and Samantha Ketterer on the crisis in our courts. There is no simple fix to the problem, but keep up the public focus on the courts themselves. I would like to see regular statistics of each court’s dockets: incoming cases per day, cases cleared by action, total backlog, total hours each court is in session, total hours each judge was present in court, etc. Until the judges’ actions become more transparent, they have no incentive to change their behavior.
