Nancy Faulkner Lewis,

89, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and entered into eternal life with her Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 19, 2021. Nancy was born May 4, 1932 in Smackover, Arkansas to Robert and Susie Faulkner; one of six siblings. Nancy met her future husband, Ray Lewis, at First Baptist Church in Smackover in 1954 and they were married later that year. After marriage, Ray’s job took them around the country, living in 22 different states in a span of 7 years until finally settling in Houston, Texas in 1961 where they raised their four children.

Nancy had great love for her family and friends. Fishing, working puzzles and gardening brought her much joy. She was a fierce competitor at Scrabble, beating all who challenged her. She was an active member at Houston’s First Baptist for over 50 years, where she enjoyed serving the Lord in several different

roles. Her favorite memories were of days teaching 4th grade Sunday School. She also served as the director of the benevolenc­e ministry.

Nancy is survived by her husband of 66 years, Ray, son Tad and wife Sherry, daughters Mona Roberts,

Lori Sheinfeld and husband Scott, and Lisa Lewis, eight grandchild­ren and five great grandchild­ren.

Celebratio­n of life services will be held at Memorial Oaks Cemetery, 13001 Katy Freeway at 11 AM on July,

29, 2021 with Reverend Gary Miller and Jimmie Lewis officiatin­g. A private graveside ceremony will immediatel­y follow the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Associatio­n at www.alz.org.
