Diana Roeder Bowler, age 69, of Wesley Chapel, NC, passed away from Acute Myeloid Leukemia on July

17, 2021 at Atrium Main – Charlotte, NC. She was born in Shiner, Texas on February 27, 1952 to the late Bernard J. Roeder and Margaret G. Roeder. She was a graduate of Reagan High School and of the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Science in Business and Commerce. While working at Stone & Webster in Houston, she met her future husband, Kerry. They were married for 26 years. After moving to North Carolina, she acquired her Real Estate License and joined the National Association of Realtors. She would always say “Giving back to the community is at the very heart of who I am as a person; we truly can make a difference in people’s lives”

She was a devoted Catholic. Her love of baking started when she and her mother began making wedding cakes for some lucky brides. While in high school, her gift of sewing won her a contest where she received an all-expense paid trip to NYC. Whether she had little or much she was always hospitable. Most who knew her found her naturally warm and encouraging. She will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her husband Kerry Bowler; brothers Dennis Roeder, Larry Roeder and wife Johanna, Bernard Roeder, Jr. and wife Rhonda, Patrick Roeder, Mark Roeder, and David Roeder and wife Lorelie, sister, Janet Wells and husband Dennis; sistersin-law, Elaine Conn, Verna Reed and husband Glenn; brother-in-law Will Bowler and wife Yaeko; and by many nieces and nephews.

Memorials in Diana’s name can be made to Levine Cancer Institute, Charlotte NC. Special thanks to all the friends, family, doctors and nurses who helped in this journey.

Services were held on Friday, July 23, 2021 at Heritage Funeral Home, Matthews, NC 28104. Burial will be held on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at 12:00PM at Fort Jackson National Cemetery, Columbia SC. Online condolences may be made at Heritage Funeral and Cremation Services
