JEANETTE WADE

-

1939-2021

Jeanette Wade passed away peacefully on July 24, 2021, she was born August 14,

1939, in Houston Texas. She graduated from Sam Houston High School in 1958 and shortly after met and married her soulmate Albert O. Wade, (Deck).

In the early years she was a homemaker, but in addition to that she also sewed clothes for herself and others to make additional money for the family. She also taught herself how to decorate wedding and birthday cakes. Her cakes were made from scratch, not from a box. She would often recruit one of her two boys to help her deliver the wedding cakes to the venue. They would help her set them up and she would do the final decorating.

Later when the boys were in Jr. High, she wanted more out of life, so she took a job as a receptionist at Flame Industries and quickly worked her way up in the company. She left that job and went to work for Smith Industries in the HR Department and worked there through the oil crash during the early

80’s. Later she worked for Home Fragrance Holdings a company that manufactured candles among other home products. She retired there after 23 years of service as a manager. In her retirement years she traveled with her husband, continued to sew, something that she now had more time for. She made over 100 blankets for our soldiers who were deployed overseas.

She got many Thank you notes and photos back.

She hosted many family lunches, birthday and Christmas gatherings at their home. Serving many wonderful meals! One of her specialties were her home-made rolls!

Our mother was a true Christian and very proud American that did not approve of many of the things going on in our society. She prayed that God would help guide our country in the right direction.

All of us that knew her were blessed to have had her in our lives. We have lost a truly wonderful wife, mom, sister, nanny and friend.

She is survived by her husband Albert O. Wade, her son Al Wade and wife Michelle, son Mark Wade, and grandchildren Tommy, Sabrina and Richard Wade. As well three as great-grandchildren.

A church service will be announced at a later date. Please go to metcalffuneraldirectors.com for updated information.
